Stargate (1994)

Plot: A giant structure found in the desert has studied by various scientist for nearly fifty years and are no where near discovering what it is. Until Daniel jackson, a language expert deciphers and reveals that it’s a Stargate. He also discovers how to make it work. They then learn that it’s some kind interstellar transport device. Now a group of soldiers led by despondent Colonel Jack O’Neill go to the planet, also accompanying them is Jackson, who said that he can reactivate the Stargate to send them back but he forgot to mention that he needs to find the symbols and they can’t find anything, so it appears that they are trapped. And if that isn’t enough, some aliens arrive and capture them and have nefarious plans for Earth.

Ok im 19 this month and still a virgin. I’m not one of those lads thats just gunning for it and I have turn down sex in the past. I was completely heart broken when my best mate (girl) slept with the only person I ever asked her not to lead on unless she was serious about liking him. I’d picked up the pieces for 3 of her relationships and I weren’t gonna do a 4th. I fancied her for so long and she knew it. Spencer Krug is a busy man (formerly of Fifths of Seven, and Frog Eyes, currently involved in Wolf Parade, Sunset Rubdown, Swan Lake). Sunset Rubdown was originally born to be a solo project where Krug could explore different thematic concepts, or arrange pieces for specific instruments, but that has become a band of it’s own. So, now, Krug has Moonface for such explorations and experiments.

The music is based on Krug’s dream journal (it’s not nearly as bad as that sounds), which is available at the site, along with lyrics. The Radiohead model strikes again, though. The download is one 20-minute track, untitled on the vinyl, but here it ends up simulating the vinyl experience.

This is pretty self-indulgent stuff, and, in the mix, the marimba is really front and center over everything. But free is free, and Krug is fast becoming one of my favorite artists, so I thought I would share it with you all.

Is my mother racist or overprotective?
My mother is against interracial dating between White people and Black people. She doesn’t like watching movies about interracial relationships like Lakeview Terrace, Obsessed, and Guess Who. I’ve talked to her about this and she says she never wants me to date a Black girl because if White girls see me with a Black girl, no White girls would want me after that.

I remember onetime too at a New Years Eve party, one of my aunts was talking about how her car got broken into at a store. My aunt said, "So there was this Black couple… and you’ll see why this couple matters later on." and my mom was like, "Is it because they’re Black?" Like implying a negative stereotype about Black people.But then my aunt was like, "No, they just happened to be Black and they came up to me and told me my car got broken into and someone stole my purse."

What I’m trying to figure out is if she’s truly racist or not. I think deep down, she likes Black people but when it comes to interracial dating, she’s terrified about how Black men would react to seeing with me a Black girl.

Is my mother just saying these sort of things about Black people to protect me? To discourage me from interracial dating?

I mean I don’t care what race a person is, it’s the character of the person that matters. I’ve seen a lot of cute Black girls that I wouldn’t mind kissing and eventually dating.

I think some of her biased thinking is due to the time she grew up in. She was growing up in the 60s and 70s when racial tension was very high in this country.

She also remembers how some Black girls would beat up White guys in school. She also remembers when this Black girl set a garbage can on fire and left my mom and her friend to blame.

I think my mother is just paranoid but part of me thinks she could be right. I mean she wouldn’t steer me the wrong way.

I just can’t help it though because there’s this Black girl in one of my classes that’s really cute. I had to control myself from looking at her too much. she was sitting on the left side of me and I kept looking at her out of the corner of my eye and I turned my head occasionally.

I think if I interracially date, it will be later down the road when I have my own place.

So who is right in this situation? My mother or me?
I mean I wouldn’t mind dating a girl of any race. My mom has the biggest problem with White people dating Black people.
It’s hard though because I love my mother so much. She was always there for me when I was growing up.

My dad was around too but I didn’t see him as much because he worked a lot.
I’m a guy by the way too. I notice a lot more Black women going to college making something of themselves.

WHAT COULD HAVE MY DOG HAVE DIED FROM?
The morning that she died she was vomiting, then she collapsed to the floor then she seemed near death at that point then an hour later she started to pass blood out of her rectum. Within the next hour she had died. After she died we had an autopsy done the vet had said that she had internal bleeding, but it was inconclusive. And we think that it could have possibly have been an aneurysm when she had vomited. She had eaten pecans before with no problems, it just so happen the night before she had eaten some. We know that she hasnt came in contact with any kind of poison from us.

We aren’t Veterinarians. It could be anything really. Ask your Veterinarian and get a necropsy done.

Need Help. What has happen? What to do?
My son’s school decided to do some testing so he could receive special help. The only help that he needs is reading. I was told that the only way that the teacher could help is to test him. Which I did. Now that I have to fill out the "Adoptive Behavior" test. Which piss me off. Basically they are saying that he is Mentally retarded. Which he isn’t. Some of the questions is,
Can he/she use the bathroom with out help.
Can he/she drinks without spilling.
Use a fork for solid foods.

Come on he does these things fine. He isn’t retarded. I have worked with changeling adults. The only thing that I wanted help was his reading. Now the school, has label him for being retarded. What are some of the things that can help me to get this mess all work out.
Seems to me that the school is just doing this for special funding.
My son is 12, I know that there isn’t anything wrong with having a metally changled kid. But when he isn’t and the school is labeling him as one piss me off. Seems that they needs more money that is all. All I wanted was to get him extra help in reading.
